Damien Clavé

Damien Clavé native of Pontacq in the Pyrenees Atlantiques, lives and works in Reunion Island since 2008. The discovery of this piece of land lost in the Indian Ocean will be a revelation and a renaissance in either human and artistic terms. The island with a thousand faces keeps inspiring him by the diversity of its cultures, climates and landscapes. « Réunion Island gave me a new vision of painting: lighter, more colorful, brighter. Now I look for life in everything I paint … « 

The originality of his work also owes much to its supports. It recovers wood, cardboard or sheets to give his works the epidermis of authenticity and character. He has abandoned from a long time the canvas too smooth and too conventional.

This talented and heartfelt artist support Morbak in his charity work with the humanitarian association of Father Pedro in Madagascar.
